Take Captivity Captive and Rewrite Your Life Script

Many people think they are under attack from the enemy, but they are not.
Some people think they are under demonic infestation and the barrage of attacks in their life, in their home, in their marriages, and so on. But they are under attack in their own mind.
What they call thoughts in their head is actually where the bullets against them are coming from. But they think those are just mere thoughts, and that the real enemy is the neighbor, their boss, their friend, or a perceived enemy. Meanwhile, those unsuspected thoughts have been writing your future quietly, and you do not suspect.
When your mind leads you astray
There comes a time in every believer’s walk, in every believer’s life, when you must stop letting your mind lead you astray, and you must start leading your mind aright, consciously.
Because your thoughts are not harmless, as you may think.
Your thoughts become assumptions. Assumptions become conclusions. Conclusions become decisions. And decisions become destiny.
The Scripture tells us in Proverbs 23:7, “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” The way you think is who you are.
So, if your thoughts are wrong all the time, your vision will be distorted. Your interpretation of God, His promises, and His love for you will also be distorted. Your interpretation of yourself will be distorted, and you will start living in a story God did not write about you, in a chapter that was not authored by God.
And many believers are in this situation.
They are praying for miracles, but they are holding thoughts that cancel the very thing they are praying for in their heart, and they don’t know it.
You say, “God will do it.” But deep down in your heart, there is a voice saying, “Maybe. If God doesn’t do it, I will just continue like this.”
You say, “I have faith,” but in your imagination, you are rehearsing, “What if it fails?”
You say, “I am free,” but you still see yourself as a slave. “Maybe this is how I’m going to continue.”
This is exactly how invisible chains form, not around your wrist, not around your waist, but around your expectations.
But you can break free.
Take every thought captive, not some
Paul gives us a command, not a suggestion. He says: “Casting down imaginations and every high thing, not some, that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity into the obedience of Christ Jesus.”
Did you hear that well? Every thought, not some thoughts.
Even the good thought. You must let every thought pass through a sieve, not just the obvious bad ones.
Every thought, I repeat, every thought.
So, in this episode, we are going to do three things:
Identify the mental patterns that have been narrating your life secretly through your thoughts, and you are not suspecting.
Overthrow these thoughts with the Word of God.
Replace them with a new script, a faith script, a Bible script, until your mind becomes a purifier, becomes an ally, not an enemy.
Your mind was not designed to be a playground for fear. It was designed to be governed by the truth.
Your mind is not a dumpster for lies. Your mind is a garden.
And the Bible says, “Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of your heart are the issues of life.”
So get ready to take responsibility for your imagination. Get ready to stop agreeing with darkness, agreeing with Satan, agreeing with your old self.
Get ready to rewrite what you have been repeating by faith, and begin to see it come into manifestation.
Are you ready for that?
Opening prayer
Before we go deeper, lift up your voice with me in prayer. Say with me:
Father, in the name of Jesus, I receive grace today to take every thought captive and to agree with Your truth, with Your Word. In my life, Father, give me the strength to stand upon Your Word, to see myself as who I am, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Your mind is not a battlefield for lies
Paul said in 2 Corinthians 10:5, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.
Your mind was never designed to be a battlefield for lies, a battlefield for ungodly assumptions, self-defeating conclusions, and thoughts that do not glorify God or edify you.
Your heart is a temple for hope.
You must take every thought captive before it takes you captive. Do not allow negative thoughts to find a foothold in your mind. You have to bounce it out. You have to speak against it out loud immediately the thought lands in your mind.
Oh yes, you can, and you should. As a matter of fact, you must.
You must stop letting fear, self-doubt, and uncertainty narrate your story and define your life.
You are not a passive observer of your life. You are an active participant with God in your life. You must cooperate with God to bring His plans to manifestation and His purpose to conclusion in your life.
You have to stand in the gap.
You cannot allow the enemy to stand between you and God. You have to take charge.
The enemy will try very much to jump ahead, come in front of you, and persuade you away from the leading of God. You must see yourself the way God sees you. You must call yourself what God calls you.
God cannot call you a child, and you call yourself something different.
You must agree within yourself: this is who God says I am. This is what God calls me.
God spoke, and creation responded
The same Spirit of God that hovered over the earth in the beginning is the same Spirit that is dwelling in you.
Sometimes we think we are the only ones who have a problem, but God also had “problems” when He created the world.
The Bible said it was formless and void, and there was darkness.
The Bible didn’t cover it up. It’s not a shameful thing. There was darkness, even in the creation of God.
So what did God do?
He said something.
And that is what many of us have not been doing. We have not been using the power of the Word through which God Himself addressed what was not cooperating.
If there are things that are not cooperating with you in your life, you have the power to do something about it, and that power is in your mouth.
God said, “Let there be light,” and creation responded.
When you speak in faith, the same creative power begins to rearrange your reality.
You are a co-laborer with God. Do not forget that.
Because God said, “Let us make man in our own image, and according to our likeness.” That means you share God’s creative DNA.
Your thoughts are seeds, and your heart is a garden
Your thoughts are not just random. They are seeds.
Sieve the seeds that land in the garden of your heart. Make sure they are the right seeds. Cherry-pick. Make sure the best seeds are planted, rooted, germinating, growing, and bearing fruit.
The fruits in your life today are the seeds you allowed and planted yesterday.
So you have to guard your garden of the heart.
Proverbs 4:23 says, “Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of your heart are the issues that affect your life.”
The enemy will always do what he is created to do in your life. Satan is faithful to his ministry: to kill, to steal, and to destroy.
Why blame him? He will always try.
The onus lies on you to prevent him from coming into your heart, coming into your home, and polluting your garden.

Renewing your mind is deliberate
Paul told believers: “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 12:2).
Transformation is not a sudden magic. It is not a trick.
Transformation is a deliberate act of replacing something with another thing.
Replacing a defeated thought pattern with a spiritual, victorious confession.
Choose assumptions anchored, not in your past failure, but in God’s faithfulness.
Replace thoughts like, “I can’t,” with: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Replace, “Maybe God has forgotten me,” with: “The Lord will never leave me nor forsake me.”
You have to claim it every day.
Every time you choose to believe what God says, you rewrite the scripts of your life.
Your thoughts attract outcomes.
Faith is not denial. Faith does not deny reality, it dominates over reality.
When your mind aligns with the Word, your world begins to change and align with the plan of God in your life.
What to think on (your new script)
Philippians 4:8 says:
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
It means your mind is like a master painter. When you allow God’s Word on your canvas, your reality begins to arrange itself into the very image of God’s promises in your life.
Your faith is the brush, and the Word of God is the stroke that shapes the glorious reality you are designed to inhabit.
So, never see yourself as merely a passive recipient of circumstances.
You are a co-laborer with God, created in God’s image, and you have been given dominion on this earth (Genesis 1:26).
Speak to the mountain
Faith calls the things that are not as if they are.
It’s not only “I will.” It is “I am.”
I am moving forward. I am succeeding. I have succeeded.
You have to change your vocabulary of faith. You have to change your verbiage of faith.
Faith begins in the imagination of your renewed heart.
Faith sees ahead.
Faith is action.
Have you ever seen a man stand in front of a mountain, calculating how to climb it, thinking and strategizing, but never taking action?
Speak to the mountain.
God said you shall speak to this mountain: be removed, and be cast into the sea.
You are not going to dress your mountain; you are going to address your mountain.
Speak to the mountain of debt. Speak to sickness. Speak to what is resisting God’s will in your life.
Everything in life has ears to hear.
God spoke: “Let there be light,” and there was light. Let there be firmament, and there was firmament.
You must create.
Many people think positive, but speak negative.
Don’t just think positive. Speak what you think. Speak what you think.
Closing prayer
Pray with me:
Heavenly Father, I thank You for giving me the mind of Christ, and the power to take every thought captive in my life. I repent of every wrong belief that has limited my destiny up to now. From today, I choose to align my thoughts with Your Word. I reject fear, I reject doubt, and I embrace faith in the name of Jesus.
Lord, renew my mind today and every day through Your Spirit. Let every thought within me agree with Your truth concerning me. Teach me to see myself as You see me. Help me rewrite my life script according to Your promise.
I decree that my mind is renewed in the name of Jesus. My spirit is steadfast. My path is ordered by the Lord, in Jesus’ name. Amen and amen.
Assignment: rewrite one thought this week
If this message stirred something in your heart, take a few minutes today and write down one limiting thought you have believed.
Then replace it with the truth of God’s Word.
The Bible says, “Let the Word of God dwell in you richly in all wisdom.”
Look into the Scripture. What Scripture perfectly aligns with the thing that brings you fear?
Begin to declare that truth over your life every morning this week, and you are going to see a change in your life and in your situation, in Jesus’ name.
