The Jericho March

When Fasting and Prayer Aren't Enough...

7 Prophetic Days to Break Stronghold Devotional Cover.png

The Jericho March: A 7-Day Prayer Warfare to Bring Down Stubborn Stronghold.

For some battles, it is not about praying louder, it is about obeying more precisely.

This is a seven day journey of prayer, fasting, and quiet obedience, patterned after Jericho, for believers facing stubborn strongholds.

Have you ever fasted for weeks, prayed until your voice was hoarse, and begged God for breakthrough... only to find the wall still standing?

The Jericho March is an invitation to slow down, listen again, and walk through seven focused days with the Lord around the walls that have refused to move.

Jericho was definitely a big wall, and it was also statement of impossibility.

History tells us the walls of Jericho were high and thick, designed to outlast any army or human strategy. Israel did not have the weapons, the siege experience, or the human strength to conquer that city.

So God did not give them a better weapon. He gave them a different instruction:

  • Walk around the city.

  • Say nothing.

  • Carry My presence.

  • Do it again.

  • On the seventh day, lift your voice in one united shout.

What looked foolish to people became wisdom from heaven. What they could not achieve by force, God accomplished by their obedience. That pattern is not a formula that we can manipulate, but it is a picture. Some walls fall, not because we strive harder, but because we surrender deeper and obey more carefully.

NAMING YOUR JERICHO

Every believer has a Jericho at some point. For you, it might look like:

  • A long-standing addiction or secret habit

  • A diagnosis that will not shift, even after prayer

  • A financial cycle that never seems to break

  • A family pattern or generational bondage that keeps repeating

  • A relationship that is under siege

  • Heavy spiritual oppression, confusion, or resistance

You may have already done everything you know to do. You may even feel guilty or condemned that God has abandoned you and you can never be free!

The goal of this journey is to help you come before God with one specific wall, walk with Him in a clear pattern of obedience, and give Him room to speak, correct, heal, and deliver.

What if the problem isn't your faith?

What if the problem is that you're fighting a Jericho-level battle with ordinary weapons?

What if God is waiting for you to approach this wall the way He instructed Joshua?

What if breakthrough isn't about praying harder but about obeying differently?

What is the 7-Day Journey?

What This Seven Days to Break Strongholds Journey Looks Like!

The 7 Prophetic Day Jericho March is to break stubborn strongholds that refuses to break despite all manner of prayers. It is a guided spiritual warfare prayer journey that you will embark on by faith.

For 7 days, you will:

✅ Identify your specific Jericho, the stronghold that mocks your prayers and defies your faith
✅ Set aside a focused period of fasting or consecration
✅ Walk through Scriptures on covenant, obedience, and spiritual warfare
✅ Pray written warfare prayers that you can adapt in your own words
✅ Receive daily “march instructions” that mirror the Jericho pattern

✅ Prepare a final “shout of faith” on Day 7 as an act of surrender and trust

The emphasis is not on magical steps, but on humble obedience, listening, repentance, and faith in Jesus Christ.

📖 You begin with a 3Day First

1. Each day contains:

  • A short Bible teaching that anchors the day’s focus

  • Scripture passages to read and meditate on

  • A written prayer you can pray aloud or adapt

  • Declarations that help you agree with what God has said

  • A simple “march instruction” for that day

  • Reflection questions or journaling prompts

🎯 Optional daily email reminders

For those who choose, there is an email companion that:

  • Reminds you of the day’s theme

  • Offers a brief encouragement

  • Gently helps you stay on track without pressure

📝 3. A simple journaling guide

So you can record:

  • What you are presenting to God as your Jericho

  • Anything the Holy Spirit highlights during the week

  • Small and large shifts you notice in your heart or circumstances

  • Next steps to take after the seven days end

WHO THIS IS FOR:

✅ Believers who have prayed and fasted but still face stubborn strongholds
✅ Christians tired of surface-level spiritual warfare and ready for biblical strategy
✅ Anyone battling addiction, sickness, generational curses, or financial bondage
✅ People who sense God calling them to a deeper level of obedience

✅You are willing to fast in some form, however small, as the Lord leads
✅ You long to move beyond vague “spiritual warfare language” into specific, biblical practice

WHO THIS IS NOT FOR:

❌ Casual Christians looking for quick fixes
❌ People unwilling to fast, obey, or follow instructions
❌ Those wanting emotional hype without spiritual discipline
❌ Believers who aren't serious about breakthrough

This march requires commitment. If you're not ready to obey for 7 days, don't start.

Stories of what God has done

Over time, I have watched the Lord use this simple seven day pattern to touch people in very different situations. These are a few of the stories that have been shared with me, used here with permission, to give you courage and hope. They are not promises to copy, but reminders that God is still at work.

— Michael T., Houston, TX

I struggled with pornography for about 15 years. I tried accountability, counseling, and different programs. During the Jericho March, the Lord began to deal with the roots, not just the habit. On Day 7, something shifted inside. The pull lost its grip. I still walk in accountability, but I am walking in a freedom I had not known before. I thank God for using this journey as part of my healing

— Sarah & James K., Atlanta, GA

Our marriage was exhausted. We had already started talking about divorce. During the seven days, we both took time separately to seek God around our own hearts, not just each other’s faults. By Day 7, the Lord had softened us. We decided to stop the legal process and begin rebuilding with help. Eight months later, we are still together and growing. It has not been easy, but there is hope again

— Patricia L., Phoenix, AZ

I was living with an autoimmune condition and had been told it would likely be lifelong. I walked through the Jericho March simply asking God to help me trust Him in the process. Sometime after, my medical tests began to change. At one appointment my doctor said the disease was no longer detectable and called it spontaneous remission. I call it the mercy of God. I am grateful this journey helped me surrender the fear and cling to His Word.

Your story will not look exactly like any of these, but the same God is listening to you. My prayer is that these testimonies give you faith to seek Him again around your own wall.

Frequently Asked Question

Q: Do I have to fast from food?
Not necessarily. Many choose to fast from specific foods, but others fast from social media, entertainment, or a particular habit. The devotional will help you seek the Lord about what kind of consecration is wise and safe in your situation. If you have any health condition, please speak with your doctor before fasting from food.

Q: What if I miss a day?
There is no condemnation here. You can either restart the seven days, or, if you sense the Lord’s peace, continue and extend the journey. The goal is not perfection, it is a steady, honest walk with God.

Q: Can we do this as a group or church?
Yes. Many people find it helpful to journey together, while still each naming their own Jericho. You are free to use this as a guide for small groups, couples, or prayer teams.

Q: Is this only for Christians?
This journey is rooted completely in Scripture and in the finished work of Jesus Christ. It is written for those who have trusted Him as Lord and Savior. If you are exploring faith and are not sure where you stand, this may still stir your heart, but I would encourage you to first settle the question of following Christ Himself.

Q: What if nothing seems to change after seven days?
There are times when God works quietly and below the surface. The absence of immediate visible change does not mean nothing happened. If you walk this journey in sincerity, you can trust that the Lord has heard you and will lead you into next steps. Sometimes He may invite you to repeat the march, seek counsel, or make practical decisions that align with what He showed you.

Complete victory

Because some have attended and participated in many prayer sessions and prgram in the past, they have become weary and lost the zeal to break whatever stronghold still holding them back.

But understand that some walls don't just fall at the first trial, just like some stubborn pursuers don't back off at one resistance. The book of Hebrews 12;4 says: "you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood, striving against sin." This applicable to not only sin but any power trying to hold you down. You need resistance like James 4;7 says: "Resist the devil and he will flee from you"

1n the book of 2 Kings 13:14-19, prophet Elisha, on his deathbed, tells King Jehoash (Joash) of Israel to strike the ground with arrows to symbolize victory over Syria. The king strikes the ground only three times and stops. this made Elisha to be angry. he then declares that the king will only have three victories instead of complete victory.

Don't stop shooting the arrow now, so you can have complete victory
