Your Gift Is Not Yours to Keep: Embracing Divine Stewardship

Updated: 2 days ago

Most believers treat their gifts like possessions. Something to develop, polish, and protect. But the Parable of the Talents tells a different story.

The servant who buried his talent didn't squander it. He kept it safe. Yet, the Master called him wicked. This is not a mild rebuke; it is a verdict.

In this teaching, Pastor Bo unpacks what Jesus said in Matthew 25 about divine stewardship. He highlights the danger of holding onto what God designed to flow through you. The gifts, callings, and anointings entrusted to you were never yours to keep. They belong to the Kingdom. There is a reckoning for every buried talent.

The Call to Action

We are called to actively use our gifts. God does not give gifts for storage; He gives them for service. When you recognize that your abilities are meant to bless others, you begin to understand the heart of stewardship.

Understanding Your Gifts

Take a moment to reflect on the gifts you possess. Are they being used to serve others? Or are they tucked away, safe from the world? It’s essential to identify your talents and understand their purpose.

The Importance of Community

In our journey of faith, we are not alone. We are part of a community. Our gifts are meant to be shared within this community. When you use your gifts to serve others, you strengthen the body of Christ.

The Consequences of Inaction

The parable warns us about the consequences of inaction. The servant who buried his talent faced severe repercussions. This serves as a reminder for us. When we fail to use our gifts, we not only miss out on blessings for ourselves but also for those around us.

Moving Forward in Faith

As you move forward, consider how you can actively use your gifts. Pray for guidance. Ask God to show you opportunities to serve. Remember, your gifts are not just for you; they are for the Kingdom.
